Some mini breaks are about getting everyone together, finding a little space to slow down and having somewhere comfortable to come back to after a day out. That’s what we have in mind for Seaside Farmstay.
We’re planning two sizes of safari tent, each with beds, a kitchen, a place to eat together and a front terrace. The larger tent will have extra sleeping space and two showers, making it an option for bigger families and groups.
Seaside Farmstay is a planned project and is not yet open for bookings. The site, layouts and facilities described on this page are subject to change.
Why choose safari tent glamping?
A safari tent gives you the canvas experience with space to settle in. There are beds ready for the end of the day, a kitchen for preparing meals and a table where everyone can sit down together.
Our plan is to create a farmstay base in North Norfolk, UK, with the coast and its villages in mind for days out. The exact location has yet to be confirmed, so we’ll share travel information once the site is secured.
Our safari tents
We’re planning a Medium Safari Tent and a Large Safari Tent. Here’s what we have in mind for each one.
Medium Safari Tent
The Medium Safari Tent is planned with separate sleeping spaces and a comfortable area for spending time together.
There will be a bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with two single beds and an enclosed cabin bed. Inside, a small kitchen and stove will sit alongside a dining table and a sitting area with a coffee table.
The tent will also have a washroom and a separate shower cabin. Outside, the front terrace will have a sitting area for a slower start to the morning or a catch-up at the end of the day.
Large Safari Tent
If there are more of you coming together, the Large Safari Tent is planned to offer extra sleeping space and a larger shared living area.
It will have two double beds, a cabin bed and two further bedrooms, each with two single beds. There will be a kitchen with a stove, a dining table and a living area with a coffee table and woodburner.
The planned bathroom will have two showers, and there will be a front terrace for time outdoors.
Features and facilities
Both planned safari tent types will have:
🛏 Beds and separate sleeping spaces
🍳 A kitchen and stove
🍽 A dining table
🛋 An indoor living or sitting area
🏡 A front terrace
🚿 Washing and shower facilities
The Large Safari Tent will also have a woodburner and two showers. Full equipment lists and other site facilities will be confirmed as the plans develop.
Things to do in North Norfolk
We’re looking at the North Norfolk coast as the setting for Seaside Farmstay. It’s an area I love for the variety: a beach walk one day, a village lunch the next, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the wildlife along the coast.
Holme-next-the-Sea, Thornham, Brancaster and Wells-next-the-Sea each offer a different way to spend a day by the coast. Walk a stretch of the Norfolk Coast Path, explore a village or make time for the beach.
Holkham is another place to add to your plans, whether you fancy a walk, a visit to the estate or a day by the sea. Check opening details for the attractions you want to visit before travelling.
North Norfolk has farm shops, cafés and pubs worth making time for. Pick up something for the table back at your tent, or head out for a meal together.

Show Respect For Seashore Creatures
Seashore creatures are fascinating and have found special ways of living in their environment. They have to adapt to survive the rigours of wave-action, exposure and predation. Some have shells for protection, but many need to hide under rocks, seaweed or in the sand.
Exploring The Seashore Is Fun, But Please Remember:
Take Photos, Not Living Animals
If you want to buy a souvenir:
Avoid Disturbing Wildlife
You can see many animals at their best when they are behaving naturally. This is true for animals such as seals, otters and seabirds, as well as rock pool animals. To avoid disturbing wildlife:
Take Your Rubbish Home With You
Beach rubbish is unsightly and can be dangerous to sea creatures. Much of the litter on our shores comes from tourists, shipping, fishing vessels and sewage outfalls. You can help to reduce this problem when visiting the coast:
Watch Where You Go
Beaches and sand dunes are prone to erosion and easily damaged by people and vehicles. To help protect the coast:
Be Careful!
All cliffs are unstable and potentially dangerous, yet they are an impressive sight and from the cliff top it is possible to enjoy a panoramic view of the coastline. Cliffs also provide a very specialised habitat for the plants and animals that live on them.
