    Norfolk is in East Anglia, a county that has maintained its rural way of life and kept many of its natural features intact. Explore towns and villages that are rich in history, with traditional markets and independent shops. Hike the Peddars Way that Stretches from Knettishall Heath all the way to the Coast at Holme-next-the-Sea, or take a short stroll along one of the many routes that detour off from the main trail and into the countryside of Norfolk. Then head back to your Glamping site to get cosy together under the stars around your own fire pit.     Glamping in Oxborough

    Oxborough is a beautiful village in the south of Norfolk, which is surrounded by natural countryside and the woodlands of Thetford Forest. We also boast a late medieval, moated country house, Oxburgh Hall, which is owned by the National Trust. Oxborough is 7½ miles southwest of the market town of Swaffham and close to Thetford Forest Park. 

    Most people visit the little Norfolk village of Oxborough to see the wonderful moated manor of Oxburgh Hall, the ancestral home of the Bedingfield family (note the difference in spelling between the village and the Hall). Locally there are many other great historical sites to visit such as Grimes Graves, a neolithic flint mine and the town of Kings Lynn which is saturated in historical landmarks.

    Get Out & About in Oxborough

    Thetford Forest offers many opportunities for you and your loved ones to get out and about in nature, cycle one of the many bike paths, with routes for complete beginners all the way to the most experienced rider, with family-friendly routes for kids too. Go Ape in the tree tops on one of the treetop trails, brave the heights and feel exhilarated at your accomplishments, this is a challenge worth taking.

    For those who like to take things slower on their holidays, perhaps a tour around the iconic Oxburgh Hall is for you. This moated masterpiece with gardens and stunning architecture is a great way to spend an afternoon, sip a coffee in the gardens while you bask in the Norfolk countryside.

    Head to Kings Lynn for a little bit of everything, shoppers will be delighted at the vast array of outlets and high street names on offer, and history buffs will want to head to the Kings Lynn Museum, the Trues Yard Fishing Museum and the imposing Kings Lynn Minster for a big dose of culture and heritage. Families will love The Walks, acres of playgrounds and recreational areas to run free in the great outdoors.

    English Heritage Grimes Graves in Thetford is a Neolithic Flint Mine, don a hard hat and head down into the depths of the Norfolk Countryside to find out more about this amazing place, enjoy walking the grounds and taking in the views of this stunning landscape.


    Dog Friendly Things to do in South Norfolk

    South Norfolk is a beautiful part of East Anglia with plenty of things for both you and your pup to enjoy. There are many great places to stroll around for the day, and many of our local estates and houses allow dogs, as do shops and cafes. Enjoy miles of adventure on The Peddars Way, or play around in the dog-friendly Thetford forest, whatever you choose to do, your dog will always feel welcome.

    Oxborough is Doggy Heaven!

    There is a tale that there are more dogs than people in Norfolk, so as you can imagine, Norfolk is a very dog-friendly place to visit! Head for The Peddars Way for an adventure on our long-distance route, the landscape changes so often and there are many places to stop and visit along the path such as Castle Acre Castle & Priory, a magical place to visit.

    Thetford forest is a mecca for dogs, let your pup run free in the wilds of the woods, with adventure at every turn! There is a cafe at the high lodge where you can stop for a coffee, they also have homemade healthy treats for your dog so they can enjoy a snack with you.

    Although Oxborough is in the heart of the countryside, the beach is not too far away, head towards Kings Lynn and off to Snettisham Beach for a dog-friendly beach, this is also the home of RSPB Titchwell, so pack some binoculars and see if you can spot some wildlife on your walk.

    For a quieter woodland walk, head to Shouldham Warren, a little-known woods frequented by bike riders for its hilly landscape, don't worry though as there is room for everyone. Your dogs will love to explore this woodland paradise, bounding over the mounds and sniffing out adventure.

    Surrounded by open countryside, you'll have space to enjoy a campfire together outside under the star-lit sky while you gaze at the constellations, a million miles away from working life.     At Go Wild Camping & Glamping, we believe in keeping things simple. That's why we offer Glamping Bell Tents that are perfect for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and relax with us here in Norfolk. Our Glamping Bell Tents are located in a beautiful and serene setting, with a host of amenities and attractions to keep you busy.

    I have never stayed at a campsite before - how does it work?

    We recommend that you book your stay (the easiest way is on our campsite's website), then show up on the day. When booking please also understand that site amenities (such as a shower block, toilets and washing-up area) are all provided for your convenience, After you’ve set up camp, head out and explore! If you have any questions or concerns while on the grounds, do not hesitate to settle them with our friendly staff.

    What's in The Bell Tent?

    What's in the Shepherds Hut?

    A cosy little hut that has everything you need for a comfortable stay except groceries. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, there's a log burner to keep you warm, and a gas stove for cooking. You'll have plenty of space to sleep with a double bed, and we'll provide the linen.

    Are fires allowed?

    There's a place to position a fire basket outside each unit, and you can buy charcoal and briquettes at our office. Glamping accommodation also comes with an outdoor, covered cooking area.

    Do the glamping units have electricity and heating?
    All our glamping units have a power supply suitable for small electric appliances such as phone chargers. The shepherd huts also have electric panel heaters and wood burners, insulated.
    Does the glamping accommodation include cookers and kettles?
    Yes – every glamping unit comes with cooking equipment available to you including a small stove, kettle, and toaster.
    What should I bring for cooking and eating?

    We will provide you with the essentials for cooking, like a stove and kettle. You should bring some other useful items too, like tea towels, dishcloths, bin bags and washing up liquid. And don't forget the food, drinks, tea and coffee you like.

    Can I charge my phone, camera or tablet?
    There is a mains power point in all the units. There’s also a charging station in the office(with a small fee) for mobile phones, tablets and small laptops. 
    Can I bring candles and tea lights?
    You can bring battery-operated lights. No naked flames are allowed inside any of the glamping units.
    What will I receive to confirm my booking?

    Once your booking has been processed, you’ll receive a confirmation booking invoice by email.

    What is your cancellation policy?

    Deposits are not refundable because they cover the administration cost of making your booking. If you have paid your balance in full and you cancel at least 28 days before your arrival date, we will refund the balance less the deposit.
