Norfolk Coast Path Camping & Glamping

norfolk coast path camping & glamping

Norfolk Coast Path Camping and Glamping is located on stunning farmland on the edge of the village of Holme-next-the-Sea and enjoys easy access to the beach. Providing a range of camping pitches for hikers, small families, large families, or jumbo tent pitches to bring everyone along; you can also indulge in a ready-made stay in a bell tent for a glamping break too.

The five-acre site is set just three miles from Hunstanton's beach and makes a great base from which to explore and embrace all the activities which West Norfolk has to offer. Why not take to the water and try paddle boarding or kite surfing? Many of the local beaches are safe for swimming, but please be aware of tide times to avoid unplanned paddling!

The site is also conveniently located for cycling and walking holidays along the Norfolk coast and coastal roads allow you to take in the beautiful scenery closer to hand than by car. There are many wonderful places to stop for a break and bite to eat along the way, such as the Crab Hut at Brancaster Staithe and The White Horse at Brancaster Overy Staithe, where you can sample the delights of local seafood and real ales.

Peddars Way follows the route of a Roman road and meets the Norfolk Coast Path at Holme-next-the-Sea as it runs from Hunstanton to Hopton-on-Sea. The National Cycle Network, Route 1 is close by (about 2 miles away) and can be picked up easily by amateur or enthusiast cyclists.

A quick ten minute walk down Beach Road leads you over the golf course and onto one of the most beautiful secluded beaches, which lie just two miles walk along the beach to the east of Hunstanton and the chance to watch the sun go down over the sea. A two-mile walk to the west takes you to the Holme Dunes and the Holme-next-the-Sea Norfolk Wildlife Trust site.

Norfolk Coast Path Camping Local Area

Holme-next-the-Sea is a historic village that is home to the final destination of Peddars Way which was used extensively during the Roman occupation of England. It was a straight bridleway/footpath starting in Suffolk at Knettishall Heath Country Park that today takes Hikers from Thetford all the way to Holme-next-the-Sea. Going back even further to the Bronze age where Holme-next-the-Sea was the location of a prehistoric monument known as "Seahenge" which has since been excavated and preserved with wax. Opening to viewing at the King's Lynn Museum. Nowadays it's a quiet little village just 3 miles west of Hunstanton with a lovely village pub and golf range with the Norfolk coast path running through the parish from East to West.

We are big advocates for the Countryside Code and Holme Dunes is a 192-hectare nature reserve to the North of Holme-next-the-Sea. It is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust and is a National Nature Reserve home to a range of coastal habitats including sand dunes, freshwater pools, grazing marsh, saltmarsh, and many bird species such as the pied avocet, wintering ducks, geese, and waders. The beach is an isolated wide open area with lots of exposed seafloor and beautiful white sand and has a small trees plantation just behind the dunes protecting it from incoming tides.

You will find Norfolk Coast Path Camping & Glamping on the southern boundary just off the A149 making it easy to access and exit from the main road. Just a 10-minute walk takes you through the narrow roads of the village to the Norfolk Coast Path with Hunstanton to your East and Thornham to your West.
