There are plenty of great things to do in Norfolk with your dog by your side. For starters, you can explore one of the many beautiful beaches in the area. Take a hike through one of the many scenic trails or parks. Or, if you're looking for something a little more low-key, simply enjoy a leisurely stroll around town with your furry friend. No matter what you choose to do, you're sure to have a great time when you experience all that Norfolk has to offer with your four-legged friend by your side.
If you don't fancy taking your dogs to the beach then there's plenty more to keep them entertained. There are many lovely country walks around our cottages, or if you'd rather take a drive out of town then we recommend: The Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path - this is an ancient track which runs from Holme-next-the-Sea along the north coast of Norfolk for around 53 miles all the way through to King's Lynn.
Start at Hunstanton Beach and enjoy views across The Wash towards Lincolnshire. This stretch of coastline is also popular for birdwatching so make sure you bring binoculars!
The North Norfolk Coast Path - this is a scenic walking trail which runs from Hunstanton all the way up to Cromer. The most popular section of the path starts at Weybourne and through to Sheringham, taking in the pretty seaside village of Holt on the way. Start your walk by taking a steam train from Holt station on The Poppy Line, or if you want to avoid stairs then pick up the coast road towards Sheringham where there are ample parking spaces!
Holme Bird Observatory - located along an unspoilt stretch of coastline on Holme Nature Reserve, it's one of only a handful of bird observatories in England with various hides and observation decks providing panoramic views across The Wash. If you're lucky you may spot some migrating birds coming over from Lincolnshire!
Holkham Hall - any trip to the North Norfolk Coast would not be complete without a visit to Holkham Hall. The hall is surrounded by beautiful parkland and there's plenty of space for your dog to enjoy a good walk or run around!
Hunstanton is a great place for you, your family and your dogs to enjoy some time on our beautiful beaches. Our Family run guesthouse is only a 2-minute walk from the Beach. At Heacham South beach, you can let your dogs off their lead if they are well-behaved and listen to commands!
If you like walking with your dog then there are plenty of walks through the sand dunes taking in views across The Wash towards Lincolnshire. Further along, this stretch of coast lies Snettisham Beach which also welcomes dogs all year round - it's about 10 minute drive from us or 25 minutes by bike!
