North Norfolk Camping & Glamping is located in the village of Burnham Overy, near the wonderful market town of Burnham Market. Nestled snugly between the expansive water marshes and a small stream that follows parallel with the River Burn, camping in North Norfolk is a prime location to experience the rural countryside at its finest with unobstructed rolling fields as far as the eye can see it's a beautiful spot to light up a campfire or BBQ and watch the sun go down. Providing a range of camping pitches for hikers, small families, large families, or jumbo tent pitches to bring everyone along; you can also indulge in a ready-made stay in a bell tent for a glamping break too.
The five-acre site is set just 2.5 miles from the sand dunes just off Holkham beach and makes a great base from which to explore and embrace all the activities which North Norfolk has to offer. Have some drinks with friends and family by your own campfire watching the sunset in its glorious orange and red glory makes for a wonderful memory to share with your loved ones. Why not take to the water and try paddleboarding? Many of the local beaches are also safe for swimming, but please be aware of tide times to avoid unplanned paddling!
The site is also conveniently located for cycling and walking holidays along the Norfolk coast and coastal roads allow you to take in the beautiful scenery closer to hand than by car. There are many wonderful places to stop for a break and bite to eat along the way, such as the Crab Hut at Brancaster Staithe and The White Horse at Brancaster Overy Staithe, where you can sample the delights of local seafood and real ales.
The Norfolk Coast Path is easily accessible from our venue only 7 minutes down the road towards Burnham Overy Staithe and allows you to explore the entire coastline on foot. This coastal path also connects you to the neighbouring towns and villages such as Hunstanton and Holme-next-the-Sea to the South-West and Wells to the East.

Our campsite is only a short walk down from the A149 which is a known pedestrian walkway from locals at Burnham Overy that walk into Burnham, and in just .2 of a mile, you enter Herrings Lane which is a quiet sea road that inclines directly into the centre of Burnham Market.
As you turn into the homestead of the watermill over the bridge down a one-way track and following the duck pond you find your way through some sharp right-angled turns which take you up to Norfolk coast footpath, or alternatively, you can walk along the field separating you from the main road right up to the coastal path and Burnham Overy. A bridleway also skirts the edge of the site across the river burn and into the salt marsh area.
This wild location also offers opportunities to see all sorts of wildlife as they like to wander the marshes you can catch sights of grazing cows, small muntjac deer, swans gracefully swimming down the streams, and hawks flying high above the open fields looking for its next target. Our North Norfolk campsite is also just a short walk from Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve, a 700-hectare island where you can explore the wild creeks of the south shore, walk the extensive sands of the north shore, swim in the secret warm pools of the creek and spot the incredible variety of birds such as nesting colonies that travel here internationally including breeding Sandwich and Little Terns. While this is the type of wildlife you can see locally there is far more out the to experience if you travel a little further. There are plenty of places to go on seal boat trips, natural parks, and RSPB Titchwell on the Titchwell Marsh, home to diverse habitats.
North Norfolk has some very beautiful walks along the coastal path that take you towards and along the coast exposing you to all of its natural beauty. It's a very short 7-minute walk to reach the coastal path which takes you around North Norfolk just 30 minutes away where you can find wonderful secluded beaches through the marshes only accessible when the tide has gone out. Camping in North Norfolk is perfectly placed to explore the unspoilt, rolling countryside of the Norfolk coast with miles of scenic trails and footpaths on our doorstep. The traditional market town of Burnham Market is also within a short 3 minute drive or lovely scenic 18 minute walk along the open farm land where you can visit a fantastic range of pubs, restaurants, butchers, grocers and all the tradition of a small historical market town.
For those looking for a little more history and culture the south east end of the campsite looks on towards St. Margaret Church a Grade I listed building built in the 11th century that retains many of it's medieval architectural elements including the original oddly large stone font and is one of 129 surviving round-tower churches in Norfolk! Alongside our campsite is the River Burn, a great river that runs through Union Mills the Grade II listed combined tower mill and watermill originally built in 1737.
