Hunstanton is a great place for you, your family and your dogs to enjoy some time on our beautiful beaches. Our Family run guesthouse is only a 2-minute walk from the Beach. At Heacham South beach, you can let your dogs off their lead if they are well behaved and listen to commands!

If you like walking with your dog then there are plenty of walks through the sand dunes taking in views across The Wash towards Lincolnshire. Further along, this stretch of coast lies Snettisham Beach which also welcomes dogs all year round - it's about 10 minutes drive from us or 25 minutes by bike!

What to do with your dog in Hunstanton?

If you don't fancy taking your dogs to the beach then there's plenty more to keep them entertained. There are many lovely country walks around our cottages, or if you'd rather take a drive out of town then we recommend: The Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path - this is an ancient track which runs from Holme-next-the-Sea along the north coast of Norfolk for around 53 miles all the way through to King's Lynn. 

Start at Hunstanton Beach and enjoy views across The Wash towards Lincolnshire. This stretch of coastline is also popular for birdwatching so make sure you bring binoculars!

Scenic walking trail which runs from Hunstanton all the way up to Cromer. The most popular section of the path starts at Weybourne and through to Sheringham, taking in the pretty seaside village of Holt on the way. Start your walk by taking a steam train from Holt station on The Poppy Line, or if you want to avoid stairs then pick up the coast road towards Sheringham where there are ample parking spaces!

Holme Bird Observatory

Located along an unspoilt stretch of coastline on Holme Nature Reserve, it's one of only a handful of bird observatories in England with various hides and observation decks providing panoramic views across The Wash. If you're lucky you may spot some migrating birds coming over from Lincolnshire!

The Dersingham Bog Nature Park & Visitor Centre

Part of the Sandringham Royal Estate- this is situated about six miles away from our holiday guest houses near Hunstanton and has something for everyone to enjoy!

There's plenty of open space for walking with spectacular views over the coast, three nature trails (one suitable for wheelchairs) plus several observation towers/hides located throughout the reserve as well as an interactive exhibition area where children can learn all about wildlife. At This centre, they have a cafe with outdoor seating and welcome dogs too!

The West Norfolk Pub

This is a traditional country pub which has been serving visitors for over 50 years. It's only about 1 mile from our bed and breakfast accommodation near Hunstanton so easy to get to by car or bike. It has an extensive menu of delicious home-cooked food, including Sunday roasts served every week. There's also a large beer garden where you can enjoy views across the countryside whilst your dog enjoys some exercise!

Heacham Beach

Heacham Beach is located on the North Sea coast of West Norfolk, England. The coastline at Heacham Beach is characterised by wide expanses of sand, Heacham Beach was awarded Blue Flag beach status in 2005 and is situated between the towns of Hunstanton to the south and Heacham to the north.

The beach can be accessed via a footpath from Heacham or by car from Hunstanton. There is a large free car park adjacent to the beach. Heacham Beach is popular with families and is known for its safe swimming conditions.

The beach is also popular with windsurfers, kitesurfers, bodyboarders and surfers due to its good waves.

Sea Life Centre

The sea life centre is owned by Merlin entertainments and is also a seal rescue centre. In addition to seals, they have black tip reef sharks, green sea turtles, cow-nose rays and much more. The Rainforest encounter is their new up-close experience. They even offer premium experiences and sleepovers. Currently, 1 adult and 1 toddler can visit for £15.00.

Fairground – Rainbow park

There is a large car park next to Rainbow park. Rainbow Park has quite a large fairground with plenty of rides for young and old. The fairground is open from the February half term until October time. Most rides are £2-3 per person, paid in cash for each ride (no tokens needed). They have many traditional rides such as a ghost train, merry-go-round, and fun house, as well as quite a few thrill rides.

Sandringham Estate

The Sandringham estate, located in Norfolk, is where the royal family spends Christmas every year. It has been their private residence since 1862 and is only open to the public during late summer and early autumn (from April through October).

Norfolk Lavender

The smell of Norfolk Lavender is probably amazing. The lavender won't have flowers all year, but there's still plenty to do. There's a café and gift shop on-site, and you can book a tour. For kids, there's an animal garden and play park (weather permitting).
